The Pause
Holy downpour!
Paused...and with a much deeper understanding of what Elvis sang about in his song “KentuckyRain” keeps pouring down...down...down.
Grateful for shelter under the covered porch of a little cabin in the heart of Kentucky I began to appreciate the pause in time. Earlier this morning the heavens opened up and poured out over the land causing life to take...a pause. In addition to the rain all across this lush green land the sound of rolling thunder roared reminding us all of a power out of our control. Ironic isn't it how there is power and peace simultaneously in the pause.
Regardless of whether we intentionally choose to push the pause button or we are perhaps forced into a state of being “paused” the core need remains the same. Choosing the pause button regularly in life causes a temporary stop of action, allowing a stillness and space to receive rather than '“do”.
Gifting ourself a pause brings opportunity to change our perspective if need be, it gives space for greater understanding and clarity and it is a powerful tool in creating healthy change in our lives. There is power in the pause.
