Storm Proof-Foundation
Foundation...a fitting topic as we launch New Each Morning and I begin to write this very first post.
As I sat down to write, I soon became aware of the sound of a saw cutting boards nearby. The neighbor was working hard as he rebuilt his deck from the ground up. It made me smile and I could just see the Father winking at me assuring me of the word “foundation” being the right place to begin this journey. Music to my ears you might say.
It is a tall job the neighbor has taken on. I ponder the steps in building a deck and I see how they parallel and reflect the truth that we must have a firm foundation to live from. The neighbor’s family and friends trust that this new deck has a solid foundation inviting them to step out onto this new platform and engage in all the times to come. They trust the firm foundation and know it was built to remain strong through the storms of life.
Truth is just like a deck we all experience the storms of life, no one is exempt.
So I ask you…have you checked your foundation recently? Beginning each new day grounded on the firm foundation of our Creator allows us to step out on that beautiful new deck so to speak and embrace the day living the life He created us to live firmly on The Foundation.
